From September 10th to September 17th, my schedule for Independent Study and Mentorship has been jam-packed with research, both primary and secondary. As the six weeks comes to a close, and I reflect on my past week, I am pleased with the progress I have made so far, and I definitely feel as if I am ahead of where I was last year at this time. I have conducted my first in-person interview, and I am thrilled to say that it was very helpful. Mr. Martinez gave me some strong guidance not only on the value of communication and integrity in the workplace but on the technical aspects of the business world as well, such as the importance of a business and editing résumés to fit the job type every time when applying for a job. I felt that my first in-person interview was a great starting place, and I am excited to have my second interview with Mrs. Rachael Bourque on Thursday, especially since she has a lot of experience in the Learning and Development area of business. I also finished my résumé final draft, and ventured deeper into the communication aspect of the business area with my research, which is something I would like to continue exploring in the upcoming. Overall, this last week has set me up for success for the start of the next six weeks, and I can not wait to keep delving deeper into the business world.
