Weekly Blog #5: 9/27-10/1: Deciding on a Focus

Over the course of the past week, I have made strides towards beginning my original work. Last week, I had an interview with Mrs. Rachel Bourque, and it was incredibly insightful and successful. Through this interview I learned that learning does not only take place in a classroom, or through a structured curriculum, but rather through experiences such as internships and jobs that require you to learn as you progress through the job role. By going on this interview, I feel that I have a strong base in what I would like to study for my original work, specifically help learning industries focus their resources in order to provide the best resources for not only their employees but the benefit of the outside world. Overall, through this interview I could see that the value of a job not only comes from the passions that you hold but also from the ability to continue learning no matter what. For the second year running, I am coming back around to Original Work time of year, and I could not be more excited. Venturing into this upcoming week, I plan to finish my original work proposal and work on my survey questions and begin reaching out to professionals in order to gather primary research data.
