Over the course of the past few weeks in Independent Study and Mentorship, I have definitely started my learning process for the year. So far, I have completed my first research assessment for the year, and my digital portfolio is up and running. I have added to my contact list, and I have focused specifically in on specific business areas, such as learning and development as well as strategy and marketing. All three of these specific areas are of large interest to me and have a wide reach over many areas of a business. This past week, I primarily focused on marketing in the business place in order to familiarise myself with the social impact of the business world, which is my main focus for the year as of now. Over the course of this next week, I plan to get references for my résumé in order to make myself more credible and venture into the strategy side of business. Ultimately, my goal for the next three weeks is to execute proper primary research in my two interviews, one phone interview and one in-person interview, and build a foundation through my interviews and research assessments to start my original work.
